Our New Poole Weekly Art Lessons

The New Poole Classroom

The New Poole Classroom

We are pleased to announce the opening of our new Poole art classes, held in the village of Lytchett Minster only few miles to the west of Poole town centre in Dorset.

We are teaching our tried and tested format of part-time 14 week long adult-only drawing and painting courses, covering tuition in a variety of different artistic mediums including watercolours, painting with acrylics using a range of specialist artist’s equipment such as palette knives as well as paint brushes, oil pastel and pencil drawing and sketching. In each beginner’s course, the tutor also covers in-depth the subject of what’s known as the colour wheel and the techniques used to mix your secondary and tertiary hues from your three primary paint colours of red, blue and yellow. We also demonstate the importance of tonal balance within your paintings and show you how this can be easily achieved.

In week 13 of every term we will then show you how to use a pastel coloured craft paper called sugar paper to temporarily mount your favourite pictures ready for a sociable and informal exhibition of the pupil’s work in week 14.

Our Poole classroom is a lovely bright space with plenty of free on-site parking for students, and has been recently modernised and re-decorated to include a new kitchen, ideal for course attendees to help themselves to coffee, tea and biscuits during their lesson.

… And it’s easily accessible by car and close to public transport for those who wish to come by bus too.
